SUSTAINABLE SPOTLIGHT - ETHICAL BRANDS OWNED BY WOMEN OF COLOR

Here at JAG, we love to keep up with the hottest new sustainable fashion brands. Today we want to highlight 3 of our favorite brands owned by women of color.

1st up is Proclaim they are an inclusive lingerie line expanding their definition of “nude” The founder, Shobha Philips, started Proclaim because she was incredibly tired of never being able to find a “nude” that matched her brown skin tone. Their super soft cut our bras are made from 100% post-consumer plastic water bottles.

https://backbeat.co/?sscid=91k4_cgrrt& Backbeat.co Has an effortless California cool vibe. What started out as a vintage T-shirt shop turned into a sustainable fashion brand inspired by California surf and skate culture. The founder Isadora Alvarez’s goal is to use fabrics with a lower impact on the environment while maintaining that “cool” factor that California girls are so well known for. Their pieces are clean-cut, not so boring basics.

Edas
